Hello, everyone!  Today I'm going to show you the unavoidable places in the Alps of High Provence. Indeed, between Provence and the mountains, this department abounds in very varied landscapes.  The first tourist place to see absolutely is the Verdon's Gorges. It is a huge canyon dug by the river Verdon. You could practise many nautical activities such as canyoning, rafting, pedal boats, canoeing, etc... You will also be able to swim in the two lakes very well known for their fresh and turquoise water: the Esparron lake and the Sainte-Croix lake. These are unique landscapes between water, hills, and mountains, which attract many tourists every summer.  The Verdon's Gorges Sainte-Croix lake Esparron lake The Verdon's Gorges are only 1:30 away from Aix-en-Provence by car, so you can go there for the day or for the weekend! Hello everyone! In this third article, I will continue to make you discover Provence with the beautiful city of Aix-en-Provence. It is a very famous city in the region but it also has a national reputation because it represents Provence perfectly. Its pedestrian streets, its monuments, its landscapes, its markets and its museums are as many assets which attract many tourists every year. You will first enjoy strolling in the city centre, between the many bars, shops and restaurants. A place of history and strolling, it is one of the busiest and most animated places in the city. Moreover, in the small pedestrian streets, you will be able to do your shopping, between the big brands, luxury shops or small boutiques of local designers. "Cours Mirabeau" Also k...

A day in Marseille

Image
Hello everyone! Today, I'm going to dedicate my second article to the city of Marseille. As the largest city in the region and the second largest city in France, it was impossible for me not to introduce it to you!  Like all big cities, there are many activities and monuments to visit. That's why I'm going to write you my top 5 things to do or see in Marseille.  1.    Beaches and the Calanques National Park How can we talk about Marseille without mentioning its unique beaches? For those who like to walk, the Parc National des Calanques offers many paths where you can hike between the sea and the tortuous reliefs. After the trail, you can rest and sunbathe by the turquoise water. These are typical landscapes of the South of France which the inhabitants love.  "Calanque d'En-Vau" For those in a hurry who don't have time to hike in the creeks, you will find the Prophet's Beach on the city centre side, accessible by car or publ...

Indeed, it is a place that is not very well known by tourists but also little known by the inhabitants. However, this village of the Luberon is really worth the detour, and is even for me an obligatory stopover when you are on holiday in Provence. You should first stop in the village of Roussillon. It is a village in the Luberon Regional Natural Park which is classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France. It has the particularity of presenting red and orange hues. Roussillon is famous for the richness of its ochres. The " Sentier des Ocres " (Ochre Trail) offers a walk during which you can discover the geology, the flora, the history and the colours of the Ochre Massif. You will leave the Ochre Trail with eyes full of colours and unique landscapes. The second stage of the walk is in a nearb...
